Navigators today is a rural agricultural district on a mixture of rich volcanic and grey loam soils used mainly for grazing livestock , cropping and other small business. It is predominantly a rural residential area nestled between two mountains, Mt Warrenheip & Mt Buninyong, offering a quality lifestyle with fresh air and scenic visits for residents and visitors.

The Navigators Community Centre and 3 tennis courts are on a 2 acre reserve known as the Gerald Mullane Reserve which is located in the heart of Navigators. Activities such as birthdays, weddings, fund raisers, funerals, auctions and Christmas parties all take place within the hall and grounds. The tennis club is associated with Buninyong and District tennis. Several junior teams are gathered each year.
