Gerald Mullane Reserve at Navigators has had an upgrade inside the hall and tennis club rooms with picnic tables intalled throughout the grounds.
The grounds have been worked on by BRI - Work for the Dole program over the last six months. Inside the hall it has been scraped back with many layers of old paint taken off. Old and broken boards have been replaced. Many holes have been filled. A discovery of two different stencils under the old paint, these designs were recreated and placed back on the walls. The colour scheme has been consulted by Lanqui Designs - Catherine Quirk. Warm inviting colour of Manilla, Cumberland Stone, Marsupial with highlights of Indian Red. Through out the project the Navigators Committee of Management made some savings and this money was spent on upgrading the heater, adding storage cupboards, adding more efficent lighting and including other smaller items.
The Tennis Club has gained a lovely room that has been lined in a heavy plaster sheeting, instulation in the ceiling and painted.
The grounds have two picnic tables installed. One is on the south side of the hall, the other is on the northern end of courts 2+3. Both of these tables have been cemented underneath and both have wheel chair access at one end.
The public toilets have evening lights that continues on until dawn.
Navigators Community Centre is available for taking bookings for private functions, a meeting place for community groups or corporate gatherings. The cost for hiring $50.00 depoist plus $50.00 hiring total $100.00 Depoist will be returned upon leaving the hall and grounds clean and tidy.
