Balagold

        Balagold is a growing elite stud that produces seed stock of Santa Gertrudis cattle as well as cross breeding program to have on display results of different matches.
The Santa's where chosen for their low maintenance, growth factors and very easy calving. The small body calves with their long legs, looking more like a fawn, have a jump start in life with the high butter fat milk that the mother produces. This enables for the fast growth to take place and strong calves which mean more profit from birth to weaning.

This breeds best production traits such as;
                * High resistance to bloat under a variey of conditions.
                * Pink eye and cancer resistance because of their hooded eye and good dark colour.
*Exceptionally good foragers with sound feet.
*Longevity of bulls which have been recored until 14-15 years of age.
*To be able to florish in a wide range of weather conditions, hardiness for the cold, perspire in the heat, very adaptable.
*Can put on more than a 1-1.5kgs a day, more meat less fat, more profit
*Excellent mothering instincts, high butter fat milk, one cow will babysit many calves whilst other mothers graze.
*High carcas yeild.
*Earlier finishing in a feedlot.
